LEWISTON FFA 2015 BANQUET
LEWISTON FFA CONDUCTS MEMBER-GUEST BANQUET
Retiring Lewiston FFA President Brooke Wehrbein presided at the May 5th Member-Guest Banquet. The annual event was held at the Lewiston School gym with 84 individuals in attendance.
Wehrbein welcomed the guests and then introduced Miah Fulton and Megan Wehrbein who presented the FFA Creed. Cari Howell then offered the invocation. The roast beef meal and potluck supper was then served.
The 2014-2015 Officers conducted opening ceremonies. Dalton Anderson introduced the guests. Five individuals then had the Honorary Chapter Degree conferred on them. They were John Robison Tracie & Jeff Wehrbein and Darren & Johanna Keyes. Mr. Robison is a former Lewiston Ag Education Instructor and the Keyes and Wehrbeins are parents are 2015 FFA State Degree Recipients at Lewiston.
Several businesses and individuals were awarded certificates of appreciation by sophomores Cari Howell and Karen Keyes. Recipients included:

Skyler Salts presented the Lewiston FFA Scholarship to senior Tyler Keyes.
Tyler plans to attend North Central Technical College in Beloit Kansas. He will study heavy equipment technology. This year Tyler competed in the LSE Job Interview contest, district & state Ag Mechanics, area & state land judging and district welding.
Advisor Dave Barnard announced that Brooke Wehrbein is the Lewiston DeKalb Agriculture Accomplishment Award winner. The senior President earned her State FFA Degree this year, competed in the State Ag Demonstration Contest and plans to attend UN-L and study Pre-Vet. She received a medal, plaque and certificate from the Monsanto Company.
Mrs. Melissa Buehler congratulated the Lewiston FFA for placing first in the Nebraska State Nutrients for Life competition. She highlighted the Chapter’s efforts in promoting fertilizer safety and nutrient value.
After recapping the year’s highlights, Mr. Barnard presented the local Supervised Agriculture Experience Proficiency Awards. The winners earned a certificate and medal.
