EVENT DETAILS: The Beatrice Knights of Columbus Council 1723 Annual Free Throw Contest is a competition designed for players to demonstrate the most basic basketball skill - the free throw. The Free Throw Contest is open to all boys and girls in our area, ages 9-14. Age eligibility is determined by the age of the contestant as of January 1. Proof of age is required. Athletes in high school should be advised to check with their school athletic directors or their state high school athletic associations regarding possible eligibility conflicts. Participants compete in their own age group by gender and will be given 3 practice shots then 15 free throws from their age designated distance. Score will be based on the number of made free throws. This event qualifies as a local event, so winners progress to the district, regional, state and international levels.
AGE SPECIFICATIONS:

Ages 9, 10,11 (Boys & Girls Competitions): - Use a regulation women's-size basketball and shoot 12 feet from the goal.
Ages 12,13,14 (Boys & Girls Competitions): - Use a regulation men's-size basketball and shoot 15 feet from the goal.
****Photography and video use is permitted during the competition, but will not be used to determine scoring or to challenge the scoring of judges. A judge's decision is final.
